Pot Odds
Knowing your pot odds is one of the most important aspects in poker.
Larger pots make calling larger bets more acceptable.
In short pot odds is the size of the pot and the chances of you having the
best hand. Pot / (size of bet to call)
Once a player learns to calculate pot odds, they
will be able to improve their game dramatically. Knowing your pot odds
is just, if not more important in knowing your chances of winning
the pot. In example 1, you'll have a better
chance of winning the pot, but the pot odds are to small to call. If you
play the hand in example 2 you'll win less often,
but the pot odds make it more justified to call.
