The South Dakota gambling are clearly defined and they even have a separate law for online gambling.  It is illegal to place a bet online in South Dakota.  The punishment is strict, you will be charged with a class 6 felony for your first conviction and a class 5 felony for a subsequent offense.(22-25A-10)  The charges are one of the toughest sentences handed out by any state.
