Oregon Gambling Laws

The Oregon gambling laws are clear and easy to understand.  Social poker games are legal among friends and family if no one is collecting any rake.  Playing poker at a bar or club is only legal if the local city or county authorizes it.
The bad news is Texas Holdem is declared a casino game and will be considered unlawful gambling in most instances.  Online poker is listed in the laws and it is considered unlawful gambling in the second degree.  If you are found guilty of unlawful gambling in the second degree, you will be charged with a class A misdemeanor.  The maximum sentence is one year in jail and/or a fine up to $6250.

Poker sites accepting players from Oregon

Players from Oregon will have the ability to play at Bovada.lv, America's Cardroom and Bet Online Poker.  These are the best poker rooms available for you.  Besides these three poker rooms, I would not be downloading any poker software.  Your options are limited with the remaining poker rooms being incredibly small and typically filled with regular grinders.  You may also encounter withdrawal issues if you decide to play at poker room that isn't the top three poker rooms available to you.
