Interested in playing live poker in Canada? If so, Poker Review USA will help you find a poker game. There is a list of all the Canadian casinos to choose from. You can also filter your choices by selecting the province you live in and then the city. Each casino review will list the table games, the slot machines and the poker games available in the casino's poker room.
Online poker in Canada is starting to get a bit harder to fund (not nearly as bad as the United States though). Popular payment processors have already back out of Canada for online gambling. Hopefully this is all that will happen for Canadian online gambling and not a start of a trend affecting online poker in Canada.
Popular Canada Poker Payment Processors.
VISA, Mastercard - If your credit cards don't work at a online poker room, talk to your bank and let them know, that you don't appreciate being told where you can or can not spend your money.
eWalletXpress - A great payment processor for Canada poker players.
Moneybookers - The best payment processor for Canadian poker players.
EcoCard - A great payment processor for Canada poker players.
Click2Pay - Still accepting.
eCheck - Transfer straight from your bank account
Moneygram - Many poker rooms have this option.
Popular Payment Processors no longer available for online poker in Canada.
Firepay, Central Coin, NETeller, ePassporte
The top Canadian poker players in the WSOP main event were:
Tuam Lam:
Tuam Lam originally from Vietnam and now resides in Kitchener Ontario, placed second ($4,840,981) in the world series of poker main event. He started the day in second place and finished in second place after approximately sixteen hours. In his final hand he had AdQd and Jerry Lang had a pocket pair of eights. Tuam Lam was all in pre-flop and flop came Q 9 5, the turn was a 7 and a 6 on the river, to give Jerry Lang a straight and the World Series Main Event bracelet for 2007.
Canadians got it better off than their southern neighbours. Okay maybe not, but at least when it comes to online poker they do. Poker players from Canada can play at almost any online poker room, the only noteworthy poker room they are banned from is Bodog Poker. Don't get me wrong the USA poker ban did hurt the Canadians too. The traffic at poker rooms like Betfred Poker and Sunpoker has dropped dramatically during primetime hours for Canadians. Some popular payment processors have started to ban Canadian poker players along with our friends to the south.
